Internal link

A link to another page within the same website.

Internal links help visitors find related information. They also help search engines understand how your site is structured and see which pages are important.

What does this mean in practice?

An internal link points from one page on your website to another. For example, from an article about bathroom renovation to the 'Bathroom renovation' service page or to your prices. Together, internal links form a network that visitors and search engines move through.

Why does this matter for your business?

With good internal links, Google discovers all your pages and understands which ones matter most. Customers find what they are looking for faster, stay longer and send an enquiry more often.

Examples and best practices

  • Link from articles and projects to the related service pages.
  • Use descriptive link text instead of 'click here'.
  • Make sure your most important pages get the most internal links.
  • Avoid 'orphan pages' that no link points to.

How we do it at Ikoon

At Ikoon, we plan the link structure from the start, as part of the standard SEO structure. Services, projects, frequently asked questions and contact are all connected. Every new page, for example from the Content Power Pack, gets a place in that network.
